The Pedra da Gávea hiking is one of the most startling and rewarding of all tours. The summit stands at 842 m/2763 ft above sea level. The ascent takes around two and a half hours and, once close to the top, you will probably feel the butterflies. Besides a steep but short hand-climbing (15 m/49 ft) and a few walks on the edge of precipices, there is nothing to fear. It's all perfectly safe and doable by anyone. From up there, the view of Tijuca Forest, Pedra Bonita, Rocinha favela (one of the world's biggest ghettos), São Conrado beach, Cristo Redentor, Sugar Loaf, Rodrigo de Freitas Lagoon and Barra da Tijuca is simply wonderful.
Then you will follow the way back to the bottom and get back to the vehicle which will drop-off at your hotel.

Muy recomendable

Fue el mejor día de nuestro viaje a Rio de Janeiro. Rio's justifica el madrugón. Llevá protector solar y agua, el sol pega fuerte. Nuestro guía tenía un manejo del grupo impecable, nadie quedó atrás. De lo mejor que contratamos por internet.

Good, with ups and downs. We really enjoyed the Rio's part. Finishing in Rio de Janeiro was the perfect ending. Very friendly guide, though the group was large and they could not reach everyone. The tables are a little close together. Nothing serious, but worth knowing before you book.

Bom custo benefício. Comparei preços antes de reservar e essa era a melhor opção. Só Rio's já justifica o passeio. Terminamos com uma ideia clara de como a cidade é organizada. Faltou um mapa impresso, tudo dependia do celular.

Contratamos esto casi sin expectativas y terminó siendo lo más lindo del viaje. La zona de Piedra de Gávea de noche es otra cosa. Muy prolijos con los horarios. Éramos varios y no alcanzaron los asientos juntos. Muy recomendable para cualquier edad.

* Hiking duration (round trip) is approximately 4 hours (3.7 miles) and is considered advanced hike with a bit of light climbing.
* Close to the top, there is a short rocky section where we use safety equipment. It is easy, quick, totally safe and perfect for beginners (no previous climbing experience required).
* We recommend that you wear light clothes and hiking shoes. Bring a small backpack with water, snacks, sunscreen, mosquito repellent, a cap or hat and money for any extras that you might want.
* The tour date might change depending on weather conditions and other variables.
* The tour is recommended for people over 12 years

Cancellation Policy

If cancellation is made up to 48 hours prior the departure date, you will not have any charge. Cancellations within 48 hours will incur a 100% service charge. If the tour is canceled by the operator due to unforeseen circumstances, a full refund will be provided.
