Itinerary:
We will leave Quito early in the morning and take the Pan-American Highway heading south. A short stop is included at the beginning to buy something to eat (food not included), to use the bathrooms and to use the ATM.
Afterwards, we enter the Cotopaxi National Park, where passengers are registered to access the protected area. Once inside the National Park, the trip will include the following stops:
First stop: Limpiopungo Lagoon. From this point we will observe different types of bird species, native plants of the area and nearby volcanoes that surround the park.
Second stop: Mariscal Sucre Interpretation Center. Visiting an exhibition is part of our itinerary, where photographs and key information are displayed for those who wish to learn more about the Cotopaxi volcano and its surroundings.
Third stop: Cotopaxi Volcano Base Camp. The trip will start from the parking lot to the José Rivas refuge located at 4,864 meters above sea level. A hike of at least one hour is also required to reach this stop. The path is steep and the landscape is breathtaking. Enjoy the hike at your own pace with your tour guide.
On the way back to Quito, we will stop for lunch at a restaurant near Cotopaxi. We recommend trying the delicious locro de papa or chicken broth to warm up. (Lunch not included)

Excelente experiencia de principio a fin. Se notaba que el guía es de la zona, contaba cosas de primera mano. Nos tocó un día despejado en Laguna de Limpiopungo y fue una suerte enorme. Si volvemos a Quito, lo repetimos.
