Description
The walk continues along lively Via Calzaioli in the heart of the city, where you can admire the imposing and singular Orsanmichele Church, a masterpiece of Florentine gothic art, decorated with shrines with statues of the patron saints of the powerful medieval trade guilds. Then we reach the bustling Mercato della Paglia (Straw Market): don’t forget to rub the nose of the famous "porcellino" (pig) and toss a coin into the fountain to bring you good luck!
Finally we arrive in Piazza Signoria, one of the most beautiful squares in the world and the political centre of the city. In this true 'outdoor museum', you’ll be amazed as you admire the beautiful Fountain of Neptune with the marvellous and imposing marble statue by Ammannati and then, looking around, the sculptural masterpieces of the Loggia dei Lanzi, including the Cellini’s Perseus and the Gianbologna’s Rape of the Sabines. Dominating all this is the majestic Palazzo Vecchio with its crenellated Arnolfo tower, one of the most famous symbols of Florence. You will be able to visit the courtjard by Michelozzo and to admire the Palace in all its magnificence.
Continuing on, you can admire the romantic, picturesque Ponte Vecchio, the oldest bridge in Florence, with its renowned jewellery shops.

Nice outing
We found it well run and correct. Compared with doing it yourself, it works out well. The local Professional Guide who will lead you through the Florence historic Center was well thought out. The stretch in the van feels long. A good experience on balance.

Que incluya guía profesional local que te guiará por el centro histórico de Florencia te saca un problema de encima. El paisaje en Monuments no entra en una foto. Los baños en el camino son bastante básicos. Lo recomiendo, con las aclaraciones que hice.

Really enjoyable, though there is room for improvement. We got more out of english guide than we expected. Easy going, you do not need to be fit for it. The one downside was the wait at the start, we left about twenty minutes late. A good experience on balance.

3:45 pm: entrance time at Giotto's Bell Tower (mandatory to arrive at least 10 minutes before). The nearest available time will be confirmed in AFFAIR the reserved time is not available due to problems that do not depend on our organization.
