Historic stop at Hotel La Leona
We will make a brief 15-minute stop at the charming Hotel La Leona, a site steeped in Patagonian history, before continuing to Lake Viedma and the slopes of Cerro Los Hornos. This point, at Estancia Santa Teresita, will be our portal to the impressive world of the Petrified Forest.
Exploration and walk among ancient fossils
Around noon, you will witness the first sight of an astonishing natural depression that houses petrified logs and fossil remains from the distant past. Our guided walk will take you through a unique landscape, where you will discover gigantic fossilized trunks up to 1.20 meters in diameter, witnesses of a time when this region had exuberant flora. You might even find fossil remains of dinosaurs, revealed by the wind in this protected terrain.
Outdoor lunch
We will pause in the middle of this fascinating place to enjoy a box lunch outdoors, consisting of a delicious ham and cheese sandwich, salad, fruit, muffin and water.
A unique landscape and pleasant climate
The natural depression and protection of Cerro Los Hornos create a microclimate in the steppe, with generally dry and pleasant conditions. The tranquility of the environment invites you to connect with the history and immensity of Patagonia.

Muy buena atención
Nada que reprochar, todo salió como estaba planteado. El vianda para el Almuerzo vale por sí solo. La parada en Cerro Fitz Roy fue lo que más nos gustó. Lo recomendaría a cualquiera que visite El Calafate.

Quase perfeito
Faria de novo, mas mudaria algumas coisas. Patagônia nos surpreendeu, não esperávamos algo assim. Não tínhamos ideia da história de Cordilheira dos Andes. A organização era visível, nada improvisado. Guia muito gentil, mas o grupo era grande e não dava conta de todos. O ponto de saída precisa de melhor sinalização, custamos para achar. Nada grave, mas vale saber antes de reservar.

Un buen paseo, sin llegar a ser inolvidable. El guía era muy simpático, aunque se apuraba un poco en algunas explicaciones. Tuvimos buen tiempo en Paisajes Imponentes para sacar fotos tranquilos. La confirmación tardó un día en llegar y nos puso nerviosos. Recomendable en general.

Average physical fitness is required as the tour includes approximately 3 hours of discontinuous walking on uneven terrain.
It is recommended to wear comfortable shoes (trekking boots or sneakers), backpack, jacket or windbreaker, warm clothing, hat, sunscreen, sunglasses and a bottle of water.
