Description

The Art Museum is located in one of the most notable buildings in the old town of Girona: the old Episcopal Palace, listed as a Historic-Artistic Site. It conserves several collections from the Bishopric of Girona, the Girona Provincial Council and the art funds of the Generalitat de Catalunya. The collections of Romanesque and Gothic art stand out (with large altarpieces such as Púbol or Cruïlles) and also from the Renaissance (the altarpieces attributed to Joan de Burguña or Pere Mates stand out) as well as works of Catalan painting and sculpture of the centuries XIX and XX (with works by Miquel Blay, the Vayreda brothers, Santiago Rusiñol, Prudenci Bertrana, Mela Muter or Celso Lagar, among others).
The Art Museum is located in the incomparable setting of the old Episcopal Palace, documented for the first time in the s. X. The building still preserves various spaces that respond to its original function, such as the prison, where clergymen convicted by the ecclesiastical court were serving prison sentences, or the majestic garden, which is opened to the public on various occasions throughout the year.

Excellent

Much better than I had imagined. We finished with a clear picture of how the city fits together. We went back to Entrance to the permanent exhibition on our own the next day. An experience worth every minute.

Gostamos

Bom custo benefício. Baroque tem um clima muito especial. O guia era bom, mas queria mais tempo para perguntas. O tempo livre pareceu curto em algumas paradas. Recomendo no geral.

Muy recomendable, sin vueltas. Nos avisaron de un cambio de horario con tiempo suficiente. El guía nos avisó dónde valía la pena parar a sacar fotos. Pasar por Museu de Arte de Girona valió el tour entero. Totalmente recomendado.

Would do it again

Excellent from start to finish. They emailed all the details the day before, very clear. Going through Museo de Arte de Girona made the whole tour worth it. For what is included, the price is more than fair. Thank you for a great day out.

Passou voando e ficamos com vontade de mais. Incluir entrada para as exposições temporárias actuais tira um problema das suas costas. Ótimo guia, atento com o grupo todo e muito paciente. Obrigado pelo dia que nos proporcionaram.

Better than expected

Booked at the last minute and it was a great call. The price is honest for what you get. The entrance to the temporary exhibitions in progress detail adds a lot. I wanted more time at Baroque.
